ACAE is an all-volunteer corporation with a Board of Directors comprised of up to thirteen members elected from the community at large and representative of working artists or those engaged in arts related activities that may include area academics/ administrators and/or civic-minded members of both the business and general communities.

All members of the Board of Directors serve without compensation.

ACAE holds periodic fundraisers with at least one major fundraiser annually that features donated art forms that are auctioned. In addition to the silent auction of the art forms, a raffle of locally donated items is utilized to raise additional funds.

Funds raised are used to fund extra curricular programs and/or services that promote arts in education in the Albany Schools, which benefit multiple students. These programs or services do not have funding through traditional sources such as State, Federal or local school budgets. The director of the program or service must account for all funds.
