There is no cost for artists to participate and artists receive free admission for themselves and a guest to the gala. Indeed we rely on local artists to produce the fine art that makes our gala such a special event! |

Q |
Can I donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of a piece of art that I would sell at your gala? |
|
A |
All items sold at our silent auction are donated in full to the charity. Artists who participate in our annual fundraiser to provide birdhouses, clocks, jewelry or fine art such as paintings or sculptures, donate their time as well as their materials, and we greatly appreciate this. We have no mechanism to return monies to the artist. |

Q |
How do the auctions work? |
|
A |
At the gala we will auction off the donated birdhouses, clocks, jewelry and fine art in a series of silent auctions. There will likely be three auctions that close at different times to streamline the process. Each auction consists of a number of pieces of art, each with a sheet of paper on which patrons can place a bid for the item. When an auction is closed, all bid sheets in the auction are collected and the winning bid is awarded for each piece of art. Winners can then pay the price bid for their items. 100% of the sale price is donated to the Albany Charity for Arts in Education. |
