Artist Registration Information Mission The Albany Charity for Arts in Education, Inc. is a recognized New York State not-for-profit corporation with a mission to promote, develop and fund arts in education programs in the Albany City Schools. Overview Now open to a variety of artistic media, ACAE's annual fundraiser began with a focus on custom-designed birdhouses. This is our 6th annual auction. We raised over $8,000 last year which was used to fund after-school arts and humanities enrichment programs for many students in the Albany City School District. Birdhouse and Original Artworks For this year's auction, to take place June 9, 2010, artists have the option of creating a functional or decorative birdhouse or other original artwork of their choosing. You can construct your own birdhouse or use one of the undecorated birdhouses constructed by students in the Albany City Schools. These are available free upon request. Completed artist registration forms can be mailed to or dropped off at the Historic Albany Parts Warehouse, 89 Lexington Avenue, Albany NY 12206. Pick-Up & Drop Off Undecorated birdhouses can be picked up and finished works of art can be dropped off at the Historic Albany Parts Warehouse MW 9-3, TThF 9-5. You can verify that someone's there by calling 518-465-0876 x10 before you come. Silent Auction Event The finished birdhouses and other works of art will become part of the silent auction event at The Pearl Street Pub's Dirty Martini Lounge at 1 Steuben Place, on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. As a contributing artist, you are our guest at this event and will receive one additional complimentary ticket. Promotion The silent auction will be promoted well in advance in area newspapers, newsletters, brochures and posters. Invitations will be distributed to the community-at-large to promote the event.
